How to change hearing aid tubes?

1. Gather your supplies

  • New hearing aid tubes.

  • Small tool (tweezers or small screwdriver).

  • Clean, dry surface.
     

2. Remove the old tube

  • Gently pull on the old tube with your fingers.

  • If it's stuck, use your tool to carefully pry it off.
     

3. Insert the new tube

  • Align the new tube with the hearing aid opening.

  • Push it firmly into place until it sits securely.
     

4. Clean your hearing aids

  • Use a dry cloth to clean the area around the tube to remove any debris.

1. Use a cleaning tool

  • Brush: A soft, dry brush is ideal for removing visible debris.

  • Cleaning tool: Many hearing aid manufacturers provide specialized tools for cleaning tubes.

  • Avoid water: Never use water, alcohol, or other cleaning solutions on the tubes.

2. Gently clear debris

  • Brush/tool: Use a gentle back-and-forth motion to clear any debris.

  • Avoid pushing: Be careful not to push the debris further into the tube.

3. Reattach tubes

  • Dry thoroughly: If you used water, make sure the tubes are completely dry before reattaching to the hearing aid.

  • Air puffer: Use an air puffer to remove any remaining moisture.

It depends on the type of tube:

  • Standard wax guards

    Replace weekly.

  • Waterproof tubes

    Replace every 3-4 weeks.
